Ray Stevens Shares Health Update After Heart Attack, Announces Plans To Sell His CabaRay Showroom

Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Stevens is focusing on his health after suffering a heart attack in July 2025.

Ray Stevens Undergoes Heart Surgery in July

On July 8, Stevens’ team confirmed that he was recovering from a minimally invasive heart surgery performed on July 7. The 86-year-old singer had experienced chest pain prior to the procedure, which was later diagnosed as a mild heart attack.

Stevens’ first surgery was declared a success. His team shared an update on July 9:

“Ray is out of ICU and beginning to walk the halls with a nurse’s assistance as he works towards recovery. Ray is very grateful for all of the cards and get well messages.”

Following the surgery, Stevens canceled upcoming performances at his CabaRay Showroom in Nashville to prioritize his health. Fans could send well-wishes to the following address:

Ray Stevens Plans to Sell CabaRay Showroom

Amid his health struggles, Stevens decided it would be challenging to continue owning and operating the CabaRay Showroom, which opened in January 2018. The venue has been the primary location for Stevens’ live performances in recent years.

Initially, Stevens had planned to slow down and stop performing at CabaRay in 2024. However, he continued performing there through 2025 until his heart attack in July. Now, he has announced plans to sell the venue.

“At 86 and with my recent health problems, it’s probably time to slow down, and selling CabaRay is the first step,” Stevens said.
“But in the interim, I still plan on doing shows once I’m fully recovered. I still have a lot I want to do in the recording studio, so I’ll focus all of my energy in that direction along with making videos to go along with the music from time to time.”

Stevens hopes the new owner will enjoy the CabaRay Showroom as much as he has. Interested buyers can contact Stevens’ office at (615) 327-4629 or email rstevens@raystevens.com.
