Powerful Gospel Collaboration: Carrie Underwood & Ben Fuller Release “If It Was Up to Me”

Carrie Underwood And Ben Fuller Take Us To Church With Their Latest Release
Country superstar Carrie Underwood has teamed up with gospel singer Ben Fuller to release an inspiring new song, “If It Was Up To Me.”

The song offers a poignant reminder that, by taking control of our own lives, we can easily miss the plans that God has for us.

“If it was up to me /
I’d take the easy ride /
But I’d miss the grace that changed my life /
Thank God I’m not the one in charge of things /
I’d never know how good Your plans could be /
If it was up to me…”

Who Is Ben Fuller?

Singer/songwriter Ben Fuller is outspoken about his past struggles with alcohol and drug addiction that caused him to fall “face-first” into a relationship with Jesus. The 38-year-old has been pursuing music in Nashville since 2018, and an encounter at a local church in 2019 inspired him to shift his focus to creating faith-focused music.

He shares his story through songs filled with “hope, mercy, and grace.” Fuller writes:

“Jesus has changed my life and He can change yours too.”

Carrie Underwood Is No Stranger To Gospel Music

Carrie Underwood released a gospel album titled My Savior in March 2021. The project contains beloved hymns like “How Great Thou Art” as well as some newer religious tracks.

The record debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 cross-genre chart and went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album the following year.

Signing worship music is so much a part of Carrie Underwood’s life that she occasionally joins the worship team at her church in Tennessee. The duo’s shared faith and passion for music is evident in this new powerful song.
