Taylor Swift & Post Malone’s “Fortnight” Music Video Wins Best Collaboration, Song Of The Summer, & Video Of The Year At 2024 VMAs

Post Malone and Taylor Swift walked away as two of the biggest winners at the VMAs on Wednesday night (September 11). The duo’s music video for their hit collaboration, “Fortnight,” won multiple trophies.

“Fortnight” was released in April 2024 as the lead single from Swift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The song reached the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in other countries such as the UK, Singapore, Australia, and Canada.

An accompanying music video was released on April 19, 2024. The black-and-white clip portrays Taylor and Post as star-crossed lovers. While Post covered up his signature face tattoos for filming, the video shows Taylor with replicas of those tattoos.

As of press time, the “Fortnight” music video currently has over 107 million views.

When accepting the award for Best Collaboration at the top of the ceremony, Taylor praised her duet partner. She said:

“There is a very clear reason why Post Malone is everyone in music’s favorite person to collaborate with. It is because you are so ridiculously talented. You are so versatile, and you’re the most down-to-earth person.”

Post praised Taylor for “the amount of work, and care, and love that she puts into everything she does.”

Later, when accepting the award for Video of the Year, Taylor acknowledged her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

“…I’d always just hear someone like cheering and like ‘whoo’ from across the studio. And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness, and fun, and magic.”

Additionally, “Fortnight” won the awards for Best Direction and Best Editing. Taylor directed the video, and Chancler Haynes edited it. Taylor also won the Best Pop and Artist of the Year Awards.

The VMA wins come in the middle of an exciting time for Post. He recently received his first CMA Award nominations—a total of four!
