Post Malone Brings Out David Lee Murphy To Sing Playful Duet Of ‘Dust On The Bottle’

Post Malone And David Lee Murphy Team Up For A Memorable Performance At Outside Lands

At the three-day festival in Northern California (Outside Lands), new country convert Post Malone used his whole hour-long set to honor country music greats. Throughout the concert, he looked like a kid in a candy shop, holding his red solo cup and singing his favorites.

After his first cover of “A Country Boy Can Survive” by DevilDriver, he addressed the San Francisco crowd and said:

“I have been invited by Outside Lands to play a set of some of my favorite songs. so let’s have some fun and f*** around.” Malone continued by addressing the weather, ” I know the weather is kinda sh** ad its very cold and if you need some warmth hug your neighbor and say ‘i love you very much’”

Malone did not disappoint in his promise to have fun when, halfway through his set, he brought out David Lee Murphy. They playfully sang a duet of Murphy’s original, “Dust On The Bottle.”

Fans Go Wild As Post Malone Brings David Lee Murphy Onstage for ‘Dust On The Bottle’

The 1994 single “Dust On The Bottle” was Murphy’s first #1 Hit and stayed at the top of the charts for two weeks in 1995. The beloved country song juxtaposes an old bottle of wine with an old love. Claiming that even looking “old” or “dusty” on the outside can’t diminish the value of the wine or a lasting love. The simple lyrics, poised with the poignant message, have given the song lasting power in the country music space.

Malone poked fun at Murphy by physically poking him during the lyrics:

“There might be a little dust on the bottleBut don’t let it fool ya about what’s inside”
