Country music superstar Carrie Underwood recently shocked fans when she unveiled a drastic new hair color. However, the color isn’t exactly “new” to the “I’m Gonna Love You” singer.
For as long as she’s been in the spotlight, Underwood has rocked bright blonde hair. While her hair color has remained consistent, she has changed up the length and style of her hair.
For her most dramatic hair transformation, Underwood cut her hair into a long bob in 2015. She sported that look for a while and had short hair in her music videos for “Church Bells” and “Dirty Laundry.”
Even when her hair was shorter, Underwood maintained her signature platinum hue. However, she has now returned to her roots (literally), going back to her natural hair color for the first time in three decades.
“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” 42-year-old Underwood wrote in a post she shared on social media on Monday (August 4).
Underwood shared two pictures of her return to her darker, natural hair color. She also posted a short video of her turning her head side to side to showcase her new hair color in all its glory.
Fans were mesmerized by Underwood’s new look. They left tons of complimentary comments on her post, writing:
