Phil Robertson’s Long-Lost Daughter Shares Some Of Her Favorite Memories With Him
In 2020, Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson Met The Daughter He Never Knew He Had
Five years before his death, Phil Robertson learned he had a long-lost daughter he’d never met.
While most people know Phil as a devoted family man and Christian, the Duck Dynasty patriarch openly admitted he lived a wayward lifestyle in his younger years. He drank too much, got into fights, and wasn’t faithful to his wife, Miss Kay. Even his own brother, Si, said Phil “was the devil himself.”
Phil and Kay separated briefly, and family members encouraged her to leave him. But she remained hopeful he’d see the light, and prayed feverishly that he would.
Her prayers were answered, and Phil turned his life around after finding his faith. He spent the rest of his life sharing God’s word, doing so on a global platform as the star of his family’s Duck Dynasty TV show.
Duck Dynasty ended in 2017, and Phil continued to preach and share his love for Jesus on social media and in his podcast, Unashamed.
Then, in 2020, Phil learned some life-changing news. A woman named Phyllis reached out to his and Kay’s oldest son, Al, sharing her belief that she was Phil’s daughter.
A paternity test proved Phil was indeed Phyllis’ father. She was born as the result of an affair Phil had over 40 years prior, before he became a man of faith.
Phil and the entire Roberson family welcomed Phyllis into their lives with open arms. She came to Louisiana and moved into the house beside Phil and Miss Kay.
Phil and Phyllis shared their story with I Am Second, with Phil saying:
“I put my hands on her face and I looked into her eyes to see if I could see a little of me in there. And I did. And I thought, ‘Welcome aboard.’ A daughter I didn’t know I had. She was lost, but now she’s found.”
Phyllis Shares Memories Of Cooking With Her Father
Over the next five years, Phil Robertson went to great lengths to make up for lost time with his daughter Phyllis. He taught her about two of his greatest passions, duck hunting and cooking.
After Phil passed away on May 25, 2025, Phyllis made it clear how grateful she was for the past five years she spent with her dad. Next to a slideshow of family photos, she wrote:
“These are just a small glimpse of the countless moments we hold dear. We’re truly moved by the overwhelming love and prayers shared by so many whose lives were impacted by Dad. We wish we had more time, but we have overwhelming joy knowing he has met Jesus face to face.”

A few days later, Phyllis shared more photos showcasing some of her all-time favorite memories she made with her father. Those memories all centered around cooking. He showed her how to make some of his signature dishes, including jambalaya, fried pork chops, and mayhaw jelly.
