Morgan Wallen Writes Bible Verse On Home Destroyed By Hurricane Helene

While helping rebuild a home that was ravaged by Hurricane Helene, Morgan Wallen wrote a profound verse from the Bible.

Morgan Wallen went back to his home state of Tennessee to visit with folks who had been affected by Hurricane Helene. While doing so, he met Stephen and Tallie Gregg of Greeneville, Tennessee and learned of their story.

According to Radio Greeneville, the Greggs’ home was nearly completely filled with water from Nolichuckey River, which borders North Carolina and Tennessee. They reported that the water came “within inches” of the Greggs’ ceiling.

Due to the damage, the home was completely stripped down, all the way to the studs, in order to begin the rebuild.

While Wallen visited with them and helped them begin the rebuild, he took a sharpie and wrote a powerful Bible verse on the 2×4. He wrote down Psalm Chapter 40, Verse 2, which reads, “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Many country stars are starting to give back to their home states.

Luke Combs and Eric Church, who are both from North Carolina, are putting on a benefit concert for hurricane victims.

It will take place on October 26 at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina and will feature performances from Combs, Church, Billy Strings, James Taylor and more.

Wallen had some time off between tour dates, so he and good friend, comedian and podcaster Theo Vonn, have been giving back to the Tennessee community this week in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. He is currently helping to raise funds for the victims and has donated $500,000 of his own money to the Red Cross.
