Morgan Wallen Becomes The First Artist In History To Claim The Entire Top 10 Of The Hot Country Songs Chart

The first artist ever.

Of course, Morgan Wallen has had a monster debut week with his fourth studio album, as expected, and I’m The Problem debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 all-genre chart, making it the year’s biggest week for any album so far in terms of unit sales, as he earned 493,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending May 22, according to Luminate. It also easily lands the largest streaming week for any album in 2025, and he secured that stat in the very first day it was out.

And yesterday, the numbers for the Billboard Hot 100 chart came out (which consists of singles, rather than the album as a whole), and Morgan has six songs from the record within the top 10, with his duet with Canadian pop star Tate McRae “What I Want” landing a the top spot. It’s Morgan’s fourth Hot 100 chart topper and McRae’s first, though some of her fans don’t seem too thrilled about it.

He’s dominating pretty much every chart, and he broke a record this week by claiming the entire Top 10 of the Hot Country Songs chart simultaneously, which includes the aforementioned Tate McRae duet at the top spot, as well as “Just in Case,” “I’m The Problem,” “I Got Better” and “Superman” rounding out the top five. This chart is published by Billboard, and ranks the most popular country music songs based on a combination of factors, primarily airplay, streaming and sales. It differs from the Billboard Country Airplay chart in that the Country Airplay is primarily focused on radio airplay (and radio streaming) within the country genre, and the Hot Country Songs chart is a bit broader in terms of including pure sales and other factors.

I know I’ve said this a few times already, but it’s unprecedented how big this release has already been, and obviously having 37 songs on an album certainly helps pad those numbers, but still… no one else in country, and few others in the entire music world, are coming close to putting up these types of numbers.

I have a lot of thoughts about it you can read HERE, but of course, this is already proving to be his biggest project yet, and somehow, he keeps managing to make it each one bigger and more successful. I personally believe it could’ve been narrowed down to a solid 14 songs, and that would’ve made it hard to argue that it wasn’t country, or at the very least, that it wasn’t good. Putting out almost 40 songs is great for boosting numbers and sales in 2025, but it’s also a great way to water down what could’ve been an otherwise really solid record.

I have had several songs on repeat, though, and I’ll leave them below in case you’re still sifting through it, or trying to find the mental capacity to do so…

“Number 3 and Number 7”

“The Dealer”
