STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island native Brendan McLoughlin has left New York’s Finest to be a full-time security guard for his country music star wife, Miranda Lambert, according to multiple reports.
“His current duty status is retired,” an NYPD spokeswoman said, according to the New York Post.
McLoughlin is now working security for Lambert, sources told Fox News.
The couple reportedly met in November 2018 while he was on duty, handling security at one of her concerts. They tied the knot a few months later with Lambert announcing the nuptials Feb. 16 via Instagram.
“I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!” the singer wrote. “My heart is full. Thank you Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me.”
The pair spent the next few weeks defending their marriage as well as allegations about McLoughlin’s previous relationships.

Due to the overwhelming attention, the Annadale resident was moved off his Manhattan patrol and assigned to driving around higher-ups from the Midtown South Precinct.
Initial reports about him taking a leave of absence from the NYPD came out in July, when sources spoke about how Lambert has “completely upgraded” his life.
Before meeting the chart-topping country artist, McLoughlin was known as the “Hot Cop” who danced to “Cupid Shuffle” during New York City’s Pride Week in 2015.
