Miranda Lambert Sings “Tin Man” With Student Choir From Her Hometown

Miranda Lambert was only a few shows into her 2020 Wildcard Tour when she was forced to take a break. On January 31, an upset Lambert announced she had to postpone her concert scheduled for that night in Salt Lake City.

I’ve been doing everything in my power to be 100% but my voice is just not there. Not even close,” she wrote.

Lambert said she was going to rest, take it easy, and hope she got to feeling better before her next show in Denver on February 1. But even a day’s rest wasn’t enough to help her get well, and she was forced to postpone that show as well.

“...unfortunately my voice is just not back yet…” Lambert wrote.

After a few more days of rest, Lambert finally felt well enough to hit the stage again. She performed in Kansas City on February 6, in Tulsa on February 7, and in Dallas on February 8.

Since she was born and raised in Texas, Lambert got quite the welcome upon her arrival in Dallas. The first picture in a slideshow she posted on social media shows her standing in front of big, block letters that say “Welcome Home Miranda.”

Lambert’s hometown, Lindale, is about an hour and a half away from Dallas. But that didn’t keep a group of students from her alma mater away from her show. After all, they had a special role to play.

During the show, Lambert invited over 20 students from the Lindale High School choir to join her on stage for a performance.

Lambert graduated from Lindale High School in 2001.

The song Lambert and the choir performed was her 2018 ACM Song of the Year, “Tin Man.” You can watch their performance in the video below.

After the show, Lambert took to social media to thank the choir for helping her sing “Tin Man.”

“…big thanks to the Lindale High School Choir for joining me last night for such a special moment!” she wrote alongside a video from their rehearsal. You can check out that clip below.

A special moment indeed. The students of Lindale are sure to never forget the time they joined their famous alum on stage!
