Just before her one-year anniversary with husband Brendan McLoughlin, country singer Miranda Lambert opened up about how she had to vet him before she knew that they could be together.
While Lambert and her NYPD officer husband McLoughlin tied the knot in a quick and secret ceremony, she says that there was one thing that could have prevented it all from happening, saying it was a “deal-breaker.”
“When I first met him, I realized I looked a little bit like a crazy dog lady…Which is fine with me, because that’s what I am.”
The 36-year-old spoke with Taste Of Country in a series of interviews and opened up about the non-negotiable thing that she was unwilling to change for him – and if he didn’t like it, well that was just that.
“I was like, ‘Hey, if you don’t like dogs, that’s kind of a deal-breaker,” she added with a bit of laughter, but completely serious. Turns out, “He actually loves them to death.”
Lambert, who has always had a wide variety of animals at her home currently lives with nine dogs and even has other livestock that she keeps on her land, so it’s clear that she’s always been an animal lover.
