Miranda Lambert Mourns Loss Of Second Dog In 6 Weeks – Her Great Pyrenees, Louise
Miranda Lambert’s Beloved Dogs, Delta Dawn & Louise, Died Within 6 Weeks Of Each Other
Miranda Lambert has lost another one of her “most loyal friends,” her Great Pyrenees, Louise.
On Thursday (June 6), the country star shared that her beloved rescue dog of nearly 16 years, Delta Dawn, “crossed over the rainbow bridge” on April 22. Lambert implied that Delta Dawn was the first pet she lost in recent weeks.
“This is part 1 of a 2 part post about the power of a rescue and what they can do to a heart. In the last 6 weeks two of the best and most loyal friends I have ever had have left this earth,” she said.

Lambert’s followers braced themselves for the news that another one of her pets had passed away. That sad news, unfortunately, came the following day (June 7).
In another emotional post, the “Vice” singer revealed that her Great Pyrenees, Louise, died the day prior (June 6), just six weeks after Delta Dawn.
“Louise aka (Lou Lou , boo boo, Lou bell, Lunas, fluff cloud). Yesterday we said goodbye to the fluffiest most protective gal pal I could ever ask for,” Lambert said.
Lambert Honors Her Furry Friend By Advocating For Pet Adoption
Lambert rescued Louise and her sister, Thelma, in 2016. She shared their story with her followers, encouraging them to open their homes to a shelter pet this summer.
“The first day I ever brought them to the farm in TN (they rode on the bus on a day drive from Dallas) they were right at home. I have mini horses, chickens and goats and I needed them for protection for the critters. And boy did they do the job. I had 7 years with Thelma who we lost last July and 8 years with this beauty. My Lou Lou polar bear. She loved it when I sang her ‘special songs’ to her.”
Lambert co-founded the Mutt Nation Foundation with her mom, Bev Lambert, in 2009. The organization promotes the importance of animal rescue, which Lambert is incredibly passionate about.
