Miranda Lambert & Chris Stapleton Release First Official Duet, “A Song To Sing”

Miranda Lambert & Chris Stapleton Surprised Fans With News Of A New Duet

On Monday (July 7), Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton announced they would release their first official duet together. They shared a collaboration post on social media with the same graphic of the song title, “A Song To Sing,” and the release date: July 11.

The graphic was of a heart-shaped disco ball with their names, and the song title is a groovy-like font on top of a burnt orange graphic.

Fans could not hold back their excitement for the collaboration, with tons of comments supporting the song even though it hadn’t come out yet! See some fan reactions to the announcement below.

“omg good morning to everyone with an immaculate taste in music”

“I can’t wait !!!!!”

“Dude is crazy talented! It’s like he’s fluent in song lyrics! Love it!”

This Is Their First Official Duet, But Not Their First Collaboration

In 2021, Stapleton’s wife, Morgane, could not attend the ACM Awards, where they were supposed to sing the emotional ballad “Maggie’s Song.” Lambert stepped in for Morgane, singing harmony for the “Fire Away” singer.

After the awards show, they decided to write a song together. That song turned out to be “What Am I Gonna Do,” which Stapleton included on his 2023 album, Higher. In August 2024, the pair performed the song live together, even though it was recorded as a solo.

Stapleton has also sung background vocals on Lambert’s songs “Time to Get a Gun,” “Nobody’s Fool” (which he wrote), and “Hard Staying Sober.”

“A Song To Sing” Has A Groovy Feel That Will Take You Back In Time

As promised, the pair released “A Song To Sing” on Friday, July 11. The second we pressed play on the lyric video, we were transported back decades, and fans online agree with us!

“This makes me want to bust out the rollerskates and find a skating rink to skate around holding hands with him!” a fan commented on YouTube.

Lambert and Stapleton traded off the first few lines before joining together in harmony, ironically singing about how the other is the “harmony you just can’t find anywhere.”

If anyone else compared finding love to writing the perfect song, we wouldn’t believe them. But the way Lambert and Stapleton sing these beautifully written words, we would have thought they were the ones in love, and not happily married to other people! The song and their voices are that believable.
