Luke Combs announces Carolina benefit concert with Eric Church, Billy Strings and James Taylor
Luke Combs and Eric Church are two of the stars mounting a massive show to benefit Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
On Monday (Oct. 7), they were announced as two of the headliners of Concert for Carolina, a stadium concert scheduled to take place on Oct. 26 in Charlotte, N.C. Also headlining the event are legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor, as well as bluegrass star Billy Strings.
The show announcement follows a promise Combs made last week to help hurricane victims in his home state. He said at the time that he was busy working on putting something together, and when he announced the Concert for Carolina, he said the show will be the culmination of those efforts.
“I told y’all I had something big planned for Carolina,” he writes on social media. “… This concert took so much planning, work and coordination from so many people. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped make this a possibility on such short notice.”

Church — who also released a song called “Darkest Hour (Helene Edit),” earmarking the proceeds of that track to help hurricane victims — issued a statement underscoring how much his home state of North Carolina means to him.
“This is my home. It’s in every fiber of who I am,” he says. “Our family members, friends, neighbors and communities are in dire need. I’m honored to share the stage with an incredible lineup in order to help meet those needs.”
Taylor, Combs and Church all grew up in North Carolina, while Strings has a special connection to the state, since he frequently performs there, and his music is inspired heavily by the bluegrass tradition endemic to the Carolinas.
Tickets for Concert for Carolina will go on sale on Thursday (Oct. 10) at 10AM ET, with all proceeds being funneled to help hurricane victims. The funds will be split between Combs and Church’s Chief Cares Foundation. Combs will send his portion to Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC and one more yet-to-be-announced organization.
