Mediabase reveals the artists who received the most airplay on country radio in 2024

Which artists dominated country radio this year? As 2024 comes to a close, Mediabase has pulled the data and compiled the top 10 artists who had the strongest presence on US country radio.

10. Kane Brown

Kane Brown’s crossover style continues to appeal to a wide array of fans. His fourth album, The High Road, is set to drop in early 2025. He was also named the Country Champion at this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

9. Dustin Lynch

Dustin Lynch scored his ninth number-one single this year with “Chevrolet” featuring Jelly Roll. He spent 2024 traveling the nation for his Killed The Cowboy Tour in conjunction with his 2023 album of the same name.

8. Post Malone

Post Malone released his highly anticipated county album F-1 Trillion in July, which quickly topped the Billboard charts. Hours later, he dropped a surprise extended version of the album with nine additional tracks. His collaborations with some of the biggest names in country music have made him a key player in the genre.

7. Cody Johnson

Texas-born artist Cody Johnson speaks right to the hearts of fans with his songs. His album Leather took home the Album of the Year award at the 2024 CMA Awards. In November, he released the deluxe version of the album with 13 new tracks and has shared that a new album is in the works for 2025.

6. Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton is proving himself to be a timeless artist. His debut album, Traveller, was released in 2015 and just surpassed 500 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart. His powerful songs and soulful sound continue to resonate with listeners.

5. Luke Combs

2024 has been a big year for Luke Combs. He released his highly personal album Father & Sons in June, which earned him a CMA Award nomination for Album of the Year. Additionally, he opened his own downtown Nashville bar and made history as the first artist with three Diamond-certified country singles.

The 39-year-old released his second studio album, California Gold, this year and earned a nomination for CMA New Artist of the Year. His song “World On Fire” was played more than any other single on US country radio, according to Mediabase.

2. Jelly Roll

Tennessee-native Jelly Roll has made an impact on listeners with his authenticity and generosity. His performance of “Believe” with Brooks & Dunn at the CMA Awards was considered to be one of the best of the night. He recently wrapped up his Beautifully Broken Tour and his album by the same name became his first #1 album.

The most played artist on country radio was… Morgan Wallen!

Morgan Wallen continues to dominate the country music genre. Despite not releasing an album this year, his 2023 album One Thing At A Time was the second most streamed album of the year of any genre on Spotify. He was the most-nominated artist at the CMA Awards and recently broke the record for the most #1 radio singles in a calendar year (5).
