Lainey Wilson Forced To Postpone Concert: “I Am Deeply Sorry”

Lainey Wilson Is The Latest Singer To Postpone Or Cancel A Show

Lainey Wilson was scheduled to perform at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas (just outside of Houston) on Saturday (September 20). Unfortunately, hours before the show, she was forced to postpone due to illness.

Lainey posted a video on her Instagram Stories, saying, “I was hoping I would have a voice by showtime, but the truth is it’s only gotten worse and I want to give y’all the best show that I can.”

She added that her vocal coach advised her to reschedule to save what was left of her voice.

The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer ended the video by saying, “Please know that I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you or your family.”

According to her website, Wilson’s next show is on Thursday, September 25th at Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Canada, followed by a back-t-back stops in Clarkston, Michigan and Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Hopefully she can rest up enough to play her shows this week! We are sending all the healing vibes to her now!

Lately, there has been an influx of singers who have had to cancel or reschedule shows due to vocal rest or illness.

Most recently, Cody Johnson rescheduled two shows in Ohio last weekend after taking every precaution once he started feeling like he was coming down with a mild cold.

I took every precaution that I could; IV’s, meds, even sweated in the sauna. Unfortunately today I woke up without a singing voice; severe cough, burning chest and throat,” he wrote on social media. “I’m so sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience, I love all of you, and I’m very appreciative of your understanding and loyalty. I hate letting you guys down, but the last thing I want is for y’all to spend your money and time on a show that I don’t think is ‘me at my best.’”

Other singers who have recently had to postpone or cancel are Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Darius Rucker, and Dwight Yoakam, among others.

All came back better than ever, so we hope the same is for Lainey!
