George Strait’s Virtual Concert – Here Is How You Can Meet the King of Country

George Strait

George Strait wants to share some shots of tequila with you. All you have to do is make a small donation, and you’ll have a chance to win a meeting with the king of country.

George Strait brings together the power of goodness and alcohol with his latest project, which is ultimately meant to help out food businesses impacted by the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the country superstar announced on Instagram that he’s going to do a virtual happy hour event for lucky fans. Depending on their giving nature, they might get much more than that.

A CHANCE TO DRINK WITH STRAIT

In a short clip, Strait explained that the happy hour event is to help raise money for the James Beard Foundation’s “Open for Good” initiative. The organization supports small restaurants and bars.

Many of these independent businesses have been severely affected by the coronavirus lockdowns and are unable to make money. The foundation aims to help keep them running.

DONATE MORE FOR A BETTER CHANCE

Strait directed his followers to a website that offers four optional donation amounts that fans can make when signing up for the virtual chat. But a virtual segment isn’t all they’ll get.

With each increment in the donation amount, fans will receive increased entries for a chance to win a signed pair of Strait’s Código 1530 boots and two VIP tickets to see Strait’s future concerts.

STRAIT HATES THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19

Of course, the lucky winner will be housed in a 4-star hotel — but only when it’s safe to do so after COVID-19. Strait is working with his tequila brand, Código 1530, to carry out the endeavor.

Strait intended to perform this summer but was forced to postpone the dates to next year. Speaking to Billboard, the artist admitted that the situation “really sucks.”

WHAT HE’S DOING AT HOME IN QUARANTINE

Like everyone else, the “Check Yes Or No” singer has been spending most of his time at home with his family. It was great for his recent knee replacement recovery, but not so great for his mental health.

Strait said that he’s addicted to performing in front of thousands of people, and he can’t right now. In the meantime, he’s been jotting down ideas for new songs as well as listening to music himself.

The singer is enjoying throwbacks to his “Ace In the Hole” album on Sirius XM radio, as well as some of the old interviews he did. He’s also advised those struggling to get out when possible and pray hard.

STRAIT’S GRANDSON STEALS THE SHOW

Last year around this time, Strait was doing what he enjoys best and appeared to pass the torch to his grandson, Harvey. The pair went onstage in the Rodeo Houston, where the young boy stole the show.

Although Harvey only sang a bit of the song, “God and Country Music,” the audience was completely taken by the cutie. Here’s to seeing Strait hit the stage again with his adorable grandson in the future.
