The Voice‘s Country King Says Goodbye To The Show
Blake Shelton has sometimes been referred to as “The King of Country” on The Voice. There’s no doubt that he’s “The King” of The Voice itself, with nine wins under his belt.
But the “King of Country” title belongs to one man…George Strait.

Season 23 was Shelton’s last season of The Voice. He’s been with the show from the start, and was the only original coach left.
The Voice made sure to give Shelton a good farewell episode on Tuesday night (May 23). It was a star-studded event, with performances from former coaches Adam Levine and CeeLo Green. All nine of Shelton’s Voice champions performed tributes to him, and many of his other past contestants were present as well.
The King Of Country Sends A Message To The King Of The Voice
Following a touching tribute performance from past members of Team Blake, host Carson Daly told Shelton there was one more person who had something to say to him.
It was a huge surprise when a video message from Strait started playing!
Strait congratulated Shelton on his successful and lengthy run on The Voice. “You really stole the show man, you really did.”
He went on to wish him well in the future and said he’d see him down the road sometime.
Shelton was understandably shocked to receive this message from Strait. When Daly asked him what he thought, all Shelton could say was, “That’s the true King of Country right there.”
Watch Strait’s message for Shelton in the clip below. This was such a cool moment!
