George Strait Gives a Helping Hand to Bartenders in Need

As parts of the country are slowly beginning to open, most bars are not scheduled to reopen for several more weeks, keeping already unemployed bartenders out of work even longer and jeopardizing their ability to sustain themselves. Recognizing the importance those servers play and will continue to play George Strait’s tequila brand, Código 1530, is stepping up to assist.

Just in time for Cinco de May margaritas, Código is pledging to donate 30% of process from online sales through participating retailers to bartenders in need. Money raised from now through May 5 will go to the U.S. Bartenders Guild National Charity Foundation’s Bartender Emergency Assistance Program.

The BEAP is a safety net providing aid to members of the bar industry following a catastrophic event or emergency hardship.

Código comes in Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, “Origen” (the brand’s Extra-Añejo), and Rosa Blanco flavors. Some retailers offer multi-bottle samplers, while others have special gift packages and specially aged bottles. Código is distilled in Jalisco, Mexico and rests in Napa Cabernet French white oak barrels, giving the beverage its unique color and flavor.

A full list of online retailers who are taking part in this generous campaign are available on the Código website. It’s important to keep in mind that due to the shelter-at-home orders issued in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, online retailers and delivery services are experiencing massive demand, so delays in shipping can be expected.
