Emmy Russell Asks For Prayers After Baby Is Admitted To Hospital

Emmy Russell and her husband, Tyler Ward, are asking fans to pray for their 6-month-old daughter.

Emmy Russell, the granddaughter of country music legend Loretta Lynn, and Tyler Ward took to social media Sunday night to share that their daughter, Taylor, had been admitted to the hospital for testing. The couple told fans that Taylor had been fussy for a few days before they noticed that she was having “small spasms” that Emmy described as a reaction to “falling almost.”

“We’ve noticed that little Taylor has had some seizures and we took her to the hospital today,” Ward said. Emmy added that the doctors wanted to keep Taylor overnight for more testing.

“They were just really concerned about it and wanted to do some checking on her brain,” Emmy said.

“In these moments, we really believe in the power of prayer. And so we’re just asking you to come alongside us,” said Tyler. Emmy added, “So pray for answers because I really want answers.”

The couple also asked fans to reach out if they had experienced anything similar and had advice for them.

Early Monday morning (July 21), Emmy shared a brief update on her Instagram Story. She said Taylor spasmed that morning, and the results from her EEG were in. The neurologist was coming in soon to speak with them.

Emmy asked her followers to continue praying for her daughter.

Emmy Russell and Tyler Ward welcomed their first child in January.

In December 2024, just months after Emmy Russell concluded her run on the 22nd season of American Idol, she announced that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth one month later.

Following the birth of Taylor, Emmy and her longtime love, Ward, revealed that they had secretly tied the knot. She didn’t share many details about the nuptials, only that they said “I do” in an intimate, simple ceremony in their living room and celebrated with a wedding cake from Kroger.

“We told everybody so last minute because we wanted to make sure it was for us and not everybody else,” Tyler shared with PEOPLE. “We wrote our own vows. And it was one of those things where you’re like, this to me is how it’s supposed to be because it was between us.”
