Eagles Players & Coach Nick Sirianni Give Glory To God After Super Bowl Win
The Philadelphia Eagles Are The 2025 Super Bowl Champions
The Eagles players and head coach Nick Sirianni gave glory to God after winning Super Bowl LIX on Sunday (February 9).
This year’s Super Bowl was a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and two-time defending Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs. “The Big Game” was held at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.
The Eagles and Chiefs last faced off in the Super Bowl in 2023. That’s the same year Chris Stapleton performed the National Anthem, and coach Nick Sirianni was seen with tears streaming down his face.
After losing the Super Bowl to the Chiefs in 2023, the Eagles were ready for redemption this year. They kept the Chiefs from scoring any points during the entire first half of the game. The Chiefs finally scored their first touchdown near the end of the third quarter.
The Chiefs scored two additional touchdowns (and two subsequent two-point passes) in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Eagles. The final score was Eagles 40, Chiefs 22.
By winning the game, the Eagles stopped the Chiefs from becoming the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The Eagles won their first Super Bowl in 2018. Seven years later, they finally took home the Lombardi Trophy again.
Players And Head Coach Nick Sirianni Speak About Their Faith After Super Bowl Victory
After winning the Super Bowl, the Eagles’ players and head coach, Nick Sirianni, openly spoke about their faith and gave glory to God.
“God’s blessed us very much,” Sirianni told FOX reporter Tom Rinaldi after the win. “He gave us all the talents to be able to get here, so first and foremost, thanks to Him.”
He later added, “Thank God, thank you Jesus.”
During the trophy presentation, Sirianni could be heard saying, “All glory to God.”
FOX News states that Eagles cornerback Darius Slay thanked his “Lord and Savior” while speaking after the big win.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts also gave glory to God. “God is good. He’s greater than all the highs and the lows,” he told Erin Andrews in a post-game interview.
Many of the Eagles’ players have openly spoken about their faith in the past. The day before the Super Bowl, a compilation of several of the team’s stars speaking about their love for Jesus surfaced on Instagram.
The video shows some of the team’s players sharing their favorite Bible verses and explaining why their faith means so much to them. Watch that video below.
Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles on their Super Bowl victory!
