Dolly Parton Pairs Up With Sabrina Carpenter For Charming “Please Please Please” Duet
Meet Dolly Parton’s New Duet Partner, Sabrina Carpenter
Many artists dream of singing with Dolly Parton, and Sabrina Carpenter made that dream come true.
Carpenter is currently one of pop music’s biggest stars. She first rose to prominence as the star of the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017. She released her first album, Eyes Wide Open, in 2015.
But 2024 was a breakout year for the 25-year-old singer. Her popularity skyrocketed thanks to the success of megahit singles such as “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” from her album Short n’ Sweet.
The album received the award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2. “Espresso” won the Best Pop Solo Performance award, making Carpenter a brand-new, two-time Grammy winner.
Shortly after winning her Grammys, Carpenter announced she would soon release a deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet. That’s when she also revealed the deluxe album would feature a collaboration with Dolly Parton.

Sabrina Goes Country For “Please Please Please” Remake
Parton joined Carpenter to remake “Please Please Please” as a duet. Their charming collaboration has a more “country” sound than the original.
When the duo released the song on Valentine’s Day (February 14), they also surprised fans with an official music video. The black-and-white clip has a vintage feel and reminds us of the movie Thelma & Louise.
That seems fitting, as Carpenter’s original music video for “Please Please Please” tells a Bonnie and Clyde type of story. Her new video with Parton references that original video near the end.
This seems to be a not-so-subtle reference to Carpenter’s ex, Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who played her love interest in the original “Please Please Please” video. The man in the back of Carpenter and Parton’s truck wore the same outfit as his character.
Upon releasing the song and music video, Carpenter gushed about her experience working with Parton, saying, “I am so honored to have one of my biggest idols on a song that means so much to me.”
