Derek and Hayley Hough Celebrate A Baby On The Way After A Pregnancy Loss
In July, Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough and his wife Hayley announced in a shared Instagram post that they were expecting their first child! The sweet video is set to the song “So Small” by Alexander Jean. In it, Hayley can be seen wrapping her arms around Derek and revealing a string of ultrasound photos. They wrote:
“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small.”

In October, the couple revealed that they had previously suffered a miscarriage. In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Hayley shared a vulnerable post about the experience that “changed them forever.” She wrote:
“A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between. As we are now in October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we share this part of our story to honor our baby that never made it earthside. One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, a silent heartbreak so many families know, and one we unfortunately had to experience. As we share this, know that there’s a rainbow not far behind.”
While they did not share exactly when the miscarriage happened, clues in the video reveal that it was sometime in 2024. See it below.

Derek & Hayley Prepare For Baby’s Arrival With A Sweet Shower
In November, the couple celebrated their growing family with a yellow-themed baby shower. Many of the DWTS family were in attendance, including Julianne Hough, Britt Stewart, Mark Ballas, and Sasha Farber.

The Houghs Welcome Their First Child
Baby Hough made HER debut on December 29th, 2025. One week later, on Monday, January 5th, the new parents announced the arrival of Everley Capri Hough. Along with an adorable black-and-white photo of the newborn’s feet surrounded by her parents’ hands, Derek wrote:
“Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
The couple honeymooned in Italy in 2023, and the trip could have likely served as inspiration for the new baby’s middle name. Her aunt and DWTS host, Julianne Hough, was quick to share her well-wishes, writing, “Welcome to the world, sweet angel Everley.“
