Concertgoer Allegedly Threatens To Shoot Up Morgan Wallen Show In Kansas City – All Confirmed Details
A man who attended Morgan Wallen’s Friday night (Aug. 2) show in Kansas City has been arrested for making “terroristic threats” on social media ahead of the show.
According to court documents obtained by Variety, an Illinois man named Aaron Brown made a post on X hours before the show in which he threatened to shoot Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce if they came out onstage.
“Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife,” the post reads, according to the court documents. “If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the f–kin’ shot.”
It seems like Mahomes and Kelce were the intended victims, though a source also told Variety that Wallen himself was another potential target.
The start of Wallen’s concert was delayed by 45 minutes as law enforcement worked to identify Brown as the man who made the social media threats and apprehend him. According to TMZ, police reached Brown via cellphone while he was in the venue, and when he was arrested, he said it was “a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.”
TMZ also reports that Brown was charged with making terroristic threats, and his bail was set at $15,000.
Wallen did indeed bring out Kelce and Mahomes as special guests at his Friday night show, which was held at the Chiefs’ home venue, Arrowhead Stadium. He also brought out Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.
The fan reaction was massive — both positively and negatively — when Wallen appeared for the show. The singer wore a red No.7 jersey emblazoned with his own name. He often wears No. 7 jerseys because it was his baseball number in high school, but this time around, many associated the red jersey with controversial Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.
Butker recently became a right-wing hero and a left-wing punchline after his commencement speech at a private Catholic University named Benedictine College, where he described Pride Month as one of the “deadly sins,” encouraged women to choose homemaking over a career and made other inflammatory remarks.
