Cody Johnson & CeCe Winans Release Prayerful Duet “Come Jesus Come”

Cody Johnson And CeCe Winans Reimage A Gospel Favorite

Gospel superstar CeCe Winans has enlisted the help of Cody Johnson for a brand-new duet version of her powerful song “Come Jesus Come.” The pair’s shared faith and powerful vocals breathe new life into the inspirational tune at a time when the overlap between the country and gospel music genres seems to be increasing.

CeCe Winans knows gospel music. She has earned more Grammy Awards than any other female artist in the genre’s history, with 17 trophies so far. Additionally, the powerhouse singer has sold more than 19 million records worldwide and has been rewarded with stars on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Music City Walk of Fame.

The Original “Come Jesus Come”

CeCe Winans released “Come Jesus Come” in 2024, and the song reached the number six spot on the US Gospel chart. The stirring lyrics read like a prayer:

“Come, Jesus, come /
We’ve been waiting so long /
For the day You return /
To heal every hurt and right every wrong.”

Most recently, she performed the faith-based tune on American Idol’s Easter special with contestant Roman Collins. Relive that performance below!

CeCe Winans Says The Duet Version Is “Truly Special”

Upon today’s release of the duet version of “Come Jesus Come,” Winans shared:

“It was such a joy meeting Cody last year at American Idol, and I’m honored to join voices with him on this powerful song. Whether you’re from the country world or the gospel world, or anywhere in between, this song is for you.”

She continues with an encouraging message of faith:

“Jesus loves you. He died for all of us, and His love has no limits. So wherever you are in life, I pray this song brings you hope, peace, and a reminder that He’s coming back soon.”
