On Monday, Carrie Underwood‘s breathtaking performance at the 56th edition of the fan-voted CMT Awards was one for the books.
Beyond the captivated audience present at the renowned Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Tennessee were Underwood’s enthralled kids cheering her on from home.
The singer took to social media to show that her two adorable sons could not look away from her stellar performance that night.
Carrie Underwood’s Sons Were Captivated By Her CMT Awards Performance
Underwood is a proud mom to two handsome toddlers, Isiah Michael, age 7, and Jacob Bryan, age 3, who she shares with her husband of over a decade Mike Fisher.
Hours ago, the “If I Didn’t Love You” singer took to her Instagram Story with a touching photo of her sons focused on a TV screen where her performance was ongoing.
The loving mother captioned the sweet post, “My boys last night watching their mama…,” with a purple heart emoji.
Underwood’s performance at the 2022 CMT Awards was magical. According to TODAY, she took to the purple-themed stage in a shimmering bodysuit and pale purple cape trailing behind her.
The country icon started her performance with her feet planted firmly on the ground. One of her legs was covered by the glittering material, while the other exposed a toned thigh.
As Underwood began singing the melancholy ballad “Ghost Story,” aerial professionals descended from the ceiling all around her, performing impressive acrobatics.
The dancers held on to the silks hung above the stage, making for a dreamy sight with the backdrop of smoke and purple lights.
As Underwood reached the end of her song, she showed off some surprising acrobatic skills. She hooked her arms onto one of the silk attachments and spun like a trained ballerina.
The talented musical powerhouse rose to the air without missing a beat in her song and balanced on the silk in a horizontal position.
Underwood ended her rigorous performance while suspended and belted the last lines to “Ghost Story,” with her head almost upside down.
The mother-of-two also won two awards. One of which was in the category of video of the year for her collaboration with Jason Aldean in “If I Didn’t Love You.”
Even more impeccable than Underwood’s performance at the ceremony is her record of accolades. She is the most awarded musician in the CMT Awards history with a whopping 25 nods.
Underwood expressed her gratitude to her fans for all the love and thanked the awards show’s organizers and Aldean for her win in an Instagram post. She wrote:
