Carrie Underwood’s Husband Mike Fisher Officially Becomes American Citizen

It’s official! After living in Nashville since 2011, Carrie Underwood’s handsome hockey-playing husband, Mike Fisher, has become an American citizen.

Looking particularly dashing in a suit and tie, and waving the stars and stripes, Mike shared a photo on his Instagram stories with the caption: “Big day. I’m officially American.”

Aside from his accent, most would have never know that the native Canadian hadn’t become naturalized yet. As mentioned, Mike moved to Nashville a year after the couple tied the knot in 2010 when he was traded from his homeland’s NHL hockey team, the Ottawa Senators, to the Nashville Predators. He has since retired from the Preds and is pursuing other interests.

It’s been such a big year for the Fisher family. After suffering from multiple miscarriages, Carrie and Mike were finally able to bring their second little one into the world. In January, Jacob Bryan joined big brother Isaiah in the household. Prior to that, Carrie and Mike got a third pup, a German Shepherd that Isaiah dubbed “Zero.” And recently, Mike got his first horse—a beautiful paint named Bojangles.

While we speculated that Bojangles could have been a birthday present since we learned of his arrival shortly after Mike’s birthday, it looks like they have added a second horse to the stable as well. After the photo of his naturalization ceremony, Mike shares an image of the couple’s brand new addition, a second pinto pony named Annie.

It’s hard to know if leaving for the “Cry Pretty Tour 360” is going to be a vacation for Carrie or if she just has more to miss at home now. As young as Jacob and Isaiah are, they may be traveling with Mom this year, and maybe Mike will, too. She could use the extra help!
