Mike Fisher, Nashville Predator’s captain and husband of newly crowned CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Carrie Underwood, sustained an injury last week that has forced him to miss two consecutive games.

Fisher suffered an upper body injury during the NHL match-up between the Predators and the Colorado Avalanche last Tuesday (Nov. 1). The 36-year old left the game and did not return, leaving fans to speculate about the extent of his injury. No details have been provided by the Predators other than the fact that Fisher is considered “day-to-day.”

Fisher didn’t attend Wednesday night’s CMA Awards in Nashville with his wife, but Carrie adorably thanked her husband during her Female Vocalist of the Year acceptance speech.

“Glory to God. Thank you Jesus! Mike, I love you. Isaiah, you are my heart,” she said as she fought back tears. “I’ve just become suddenly stupid…I just love you all … I don’t know what else to say.”

Fisher, who traveled with his team to Arizona, took to Instagram to congratulate his wife, saying, “Very proud of you, [Carrie], for winning female vocalist of the year. Wish I could be there to celebrate! God has given you an incredible gift and you continue to inspire me by the way you use it for Him. Love you!”
