Beginning Friday, SiriusXM’s “StagecouchWeekend” will broadcast exclusive at-home performances from country music’s biggest stars.
Though this year’s Stagecoach has been postponed until October, country fans will get a special preview this weekend, when the festival was originally scheduled to take place. Beginning Friday, 24 April at noon EST, SiriusXM’s The Highway (channel 56) will broadcast “Stagecouch Weekend”, featuring headlining sets from Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church, plus hours of new at-home performances from over 20 artists.
A joint presentation of SiriusXM and Goldenvoice, “Stagecouch” will air on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from noon – 5:00 PM EST, with encore presentations to follow – all available on satellite radios, as well as on the SiriusXM app.
“Stagecouch Weekend” will function as a multi-day festival, featuring a different headliner each night. Thomas Rhett, who is currently nominated for five ACM awards this year, will be the featured performer on Friday evening. This summer, Rhett is scheduled to kick-off an extensive tour around his fourth studio album, Center Point Road, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200.
Seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist Carrie Underwood will close out Saturday night’s events. The artist has had a busy few months, publishing her debut book, Find Your Path, in March, and dropping her fourth single off 2018’s Cry Pretty, ‘Drinking Alone’ at the end of last year. Her sixth studio album, Cry Pretty debuted atop the Billboard 200 and peaked at No.1 in the UK, Canada and Australia.
Rounding out the weekend on Sunday will be Eric Church. The nine-time CMA-winning country star wrapped up his Double Down Tour late last year, in support of his sixth studio album, Desperate Man. The widely-praised LP debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, while it became his fifth album to peak in the Billboard 200’s Top Ten.
Listeners can also expect to hear live sets from over 20 artists, including Ashley McBryde, Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett, Ingrid Andress, Jon Pardi, Midland and Old Dominion – all of whom are slated to participate in this year’s Stagecoach Festival.
In an official statement, Steve Blatter, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Music Programming, SiriusXM, said, “With the amazing help of the many great country music artists involved, this prestigious annual event will come to life like it never has before on The Highway.”
Stagecoach Talent Buyer Stacy Vee added, “We couldn’t let this weekend in April go by quietly, so we decided to throw a house party. I hope everyone enjoys what we have put together!”
Even those who aren’t current subscribers to SiriusXM can enjoy the virtual festival. The satellite radio giant is making its channels free to the public on the SiriusXM app and connected devices through 15 May.
