Carrie Underwood showed a whole new side of herself on American Idol, and it left Luke Bryan downright spooked

Having spent two decades in the spotlight, Carrie Underwood not only dominated the airwaves and sold over 85 million albums, she also shared her life with the world. Knowing the price of fame, the singer watched as her life practically changed overnight when she won the fourth season of American Idol back in 2005. Over the last 20 years, the singer won numerous awards, helmed her own tour, and released nine studio albums. But recently, the country singer returned to American Idol as a judge. And even with her becoming a household name, Underwood shocked fans and her fellow judges when listing her favorite movies.

With American Idol moving into Hollywood Week, fans are getting a good look at the contestants hoping to become the latest winner. But at the same time, they also looked to Underwood given it was her first time as a judge. Quickly proving her ability to give gracious feedback and make the tough decisions, she confused Luke Bryan when one contestant wanted to know her Top 3 films.

aking just a moment to collect her thoughts, Underwood decided to not hold back, admitting, “Probably Halloween.” Even after seeing the contestant’s reaction, she added, “A Nightmare on Elm Street, I’ve seen all of them. The Alien franchises.”
Calling it the “Dark side of Carrie”, Bryan told the contestant, “I’m scared to sit by her at this point.”
Carrie Underwood Can’t Get Enough Of ‘Halloween’
With fans loving the interaction, apparently, Underwood opened up about her love for horror movies in the past. Back in 2021, she spoke about her fascination with Halloween with Cody Alan. “I love this season! There are so many movies on TV… The ‘Halloween’ series is definitely a favorite!” She continued, “I have some gnarly dreams… I mean even when we watch TV, we watch a lot of investigation discovery stuff or ‘Snapped,’ or like, they’re trying to figure out these mysteries. I don’t know why I gravitate toward those. I just do.”

Fans appeared to agree with Underwood’s love for horror movies as comments read, “This is surprising, I can’t even watch the gremlins!” Another person insisted, “Haha Luke. I would have never pictured Carrie as a horror movie fan! But I’m here for it.”
