When a celebrity like Carrie Underwood comes along and shows that her life isn’t that much different than your own, you’re incredibly grateful.
As you’re scrolling through the Insta page of your favorite celeb, you can’t help but notice how picture-perfect everything is. Especially when compared to the chaos that is normally your life. That’s why when a celebrity like Carrie Underwood comes along and shows that her life isn’t that much different than your own, you’re incredibly grateful that she’s so relatable. Here are some of her most down-to-earth mama moments.
For Showing Us That She Has Mama Sleep Woes
Moms with young kids know that a good night of sleep is almost as mythical as a unicorn. While preparing for the CMT Awards, Underwood showed the world that celebrity moms are not exempt from this struggle. In her post, Underwood can be seen wearing eye masks and chugging a huge cup of coffee. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Step 1: try to fake a good night’s sleep with coffee and eye masks. I’ll let you know how it works out! 😴😴😴 This moment of honesty over a perfectly airbrushed picture made this celebrity mama completely relatable.

A mother’s work is never done and in order to realistically check anything off of your to-do list, you have to become an expert at multitasking. This includes while working out. As great as it would be to get an hour workout in with no interruptions, it’s probably not going to happen. With a post where she shows her son…and husband crashing her workout session, Underwood proves that moms everywhere need to fit in when they can if they want to work out, no matter what distractions come their way! She captions the post by saying, “My boys make workouts fun (and a little less productive, but that’s ok)!
For Forgoing Perfect And Just Being Normal
Whether its a picture of her family dressed up in costume on a Tuesday or a picture of her messy faced one-year-old after smashing into a birthday cake, Underwood is not afraid to show that the moment’s she experiences with her family are just as silly, just as unpredictable and just as hectic as every mom out there. Perhaps what makes her so down to earth though isn’t the fact that she shares these moments but that you can tell they’re a regular part of her life and that she fully embraces the craziness that being a mom entails.
For Expressing Postpartum Body Struggles
Whether it’s pressure we put on ourselves or pressure put on us by other people, almost every single woman who’s had a baby has had doubts about her postpartum body and the ability to get it back to where it was before.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “I’m going to be honest, ‘bouncing back’ after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately. I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again… for my body to feel the way that I know it can. As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me,” she continued. “It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t.”

Along with her video is the caption, “I can no longer tie my own shoes…so glad I have such sweet helpers! 💖 This video got over $2 million views and over 5,000 likes from moms to be that could relate!
For Showing The Weirdness Of Kids
You can spend a fortune on toys but for some reason, kids prefer playing with the most random things. Underwood’s son Isaiah is no different which was evidenced by a post of a unique and unconventional toy of his. On her Instagram, Underwood posted a picture of a potato with a smiley face drawn on it sitting inside of a donut-shaped mini innertube. Underwood explains to her followers that while her son has actual toys to play with, this has been his preferred toy for 2 days.
