It was a great year for Carrie Underwood. 2019 saw the talented entertainer launch and wrap her insanely successful, all-female Cry Pretty Tour 360. Her television appearances were numerous, including performances on Elvis: All-Star Tribute, Dolly Parton: Here She Comes Again, Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special, and the Kennedy Center Honors where she paid tribute to Linda Ronstadt.
As it turns out, that was Carrie’s last time to host the CMA Awards, at least for a while, as she also announced that she was passing the torch to someone new.
In addition, she made history with Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton as the first all-female hosting line-up at the 2019 CMA Awards. She shared a photo from that magical night on her socials and commented, “One of the highlights of 2019 and of my entire career so far was being on stage
with the legends that are Reba and Dolly Parton. I’m so proud that we could celebrate the incredible female artists that are part of the legacy of country music, past, present and future, and I’m thankful for the huge audiences all over the world that tuned in to see it. It’s hard to believe that it was my 12th year hosting and I will always treasure every show, from the 11 that I was so lucky to do with my partner in crime and friend for life, Brad Paisley, to sharing the stage with two of my all-time heroes.”
Even with all of that, if you ask Carrie what the high point of her year was, it’s much more personal. In another post on her socials, Carrie shares a picture of the newest addition to the Underwood-Fisher home — Baby Jacob. “And the most memorable moment of all in 2019…becoming a family of four was the best way to start off the new year as we welcomed our precious Jacob,” she writes.
Coming up in 2020, Carrie will release her first book, Find Your Path, in March.
