Adjusting To COVID-19
While we’re all staying home and trying to stay sane during a global pandemic, it’s important to remind ourselves why we’re staying home. In order to flatten the curve, it is essentially for anyone who is able to stay home as much as possible. The hashtag #IStayHomeFor has gone viral on social media, with people sharing who it is that they are devoted to keeping safe.
Country legend Dolly Parton took part in this challenge, writing:
“I stay home for YOU, all of the beautiful fans. This is so important right now to protect yourself, your community and the world.”
She also nominated fellow country star Carrie Underwood, who shared her own quarantine post on Instagram.
Who She Stays Home For
Underwood shared on Instagram that she stays home for her boys, her sons Isaiah and Jacob with husband Mike Fisher. Underwood then went on to nominate Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams Paisley, Keith Urban, and Nicole Kidman.
Underwood and Fisher also recorded a PSA video for the NHL team the Nashville Predators. The couple encouraged Tennessee residents to “Do your part. Stay apart.” in the video, stressing the importance of social distancing for flattening the curve with the coronavirus spread.
An Important Message
Fisher explained to people watching the video:
“To help the health of our community, we’re asking everyone to stay at home as much as possible and practice social distancing.”
Underwood continued, encouraging Tennessee to come together as a community and do their best to slow the spread.
“Working together we can stop the spread of COVID-19. Do your part, stay apart.”
However, Underwood did catch some flack on Instagram when she was seemingly promoting her gym wear line, CALIA by Carrie in the middle of a pandemic. While it was beneficial for Underwood and Fisher to do their part to spread the message, selling luxury goods while many are losing their livelihoods wasn’t the best look.
Do your part. Stay apart.
