Last year’s Barefoot Country Music Fest was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Now its scheduled to happen on the Wildwood beach in August.

Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, and Dan + Shay will headline the Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood this summer.

The inaugural BCMF is scheduled to take place from Thursday, Aug. 20, through Sunday, Aug. 24, on the beach between Morey’s Mariner’s and Adventure Piers.

Besides the three headliners, others mainstream country acts slated to get sand in their boots on the 33-acre site include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lee Brice, Billy Currington, Jon Pardi, Chris Lane, Lindsay Ell, Carolyn Miller, Academy of Country Music best new male artist winner Jimmie Allen and Grammy best new artist nominee Ingrid Andress.

The festival was originally scheduled to debut in Wildwood in June 2020 with Underwood and Blake Shelton headlining but was postponed by the coronavirus pandemic. It’s presented by Southern Entertainment, who produce the annual Carolina Country Music Fest in June, which bills itself as “the East Coast’s largest country music fest.”

The BCMF is the earliest large-scale outdoor music festival currently scheduled to go on in the region in 2021. The Xponential Music Festival is slated for Sept. 17 to 19 at Wiggins Park and the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, and the Firefly Music Festival is scheduled for Sept. 23 to 26 at the Woodlands in Dover, Del. Those events haven’t yet announced lineups.

The Barefoot fest will kick off with a Thursday night concert honoring first responders that is also open to ticket buyers who purchase passes for the festival by May 14. The lineup for that show will be announced on Friday.

Tickets purchased for last year’s postponed festival will be honored for this year, and 2021 tickets are on sale now at BarefootCountryMusicFest.com.

“As restrictions continue to be lifted, we expect this event to be one of the largest economic-impact contributors to our tourism economy,” John Siciliano, executive director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvements & Development Authority said in a statement.

The festival did not make information available on any capacity limitations but said in a press release that “BCMF will follow all recommended CDC and state guidelines regarding COVID-19 at the time of the event.”
