Carrie Underwood and her husband, former NHL hockey player Mike Fisher, have released the fourth and final episode of their short film series, Mike And Carrie: God & Country, on I Am Second’s website. In the episode, titled “If I Were Married To Myself,” Carrie and Mike talk about their differences, admitting that their marriage isn’t always perfect, but that they lean into their faith for guidance. The episode included Mike talking about his Catchin’ Deers lifestyle brand and how he has dipped his toes into singing for a few humorous parody videos.

“He says things like, ‘My new song drops Friday.’ And I’m like, ‘Don’t. Don’t say drops,’” says Carrie, as Mike laughs. “I’m going to go play hockey now. How would you feel about that?”

“I’m a better singer than you are a hockey player,” says Mike in return, with a smile.

The couple goes on to talk about some of their differences, including the fact that Mike is an avid hunter and Carrie is quite the opposite as a vegan. Throughout these differences, they have learned how to compromise.

“That’s the thing about marriage too,” says Carrie. “You don’t have to be on the same page about everything. If I were married to myself, that would be terrible. First and foremost is our faith. We know God brought us together and trust his judgement, and then just finding ways to compromise through it.”

Mike then chimes in, affirming that their faith in God is at the center of everything they do. Although they have blessed with their careers and money and fame, he says that their belief is the most important thing in their lives.

“We’re not perfect, we don’t have a perfect marriage, but we have that one thing in our faith,” he says. “That’s why we’re here, to glorify God with what we’ve been given.”
