The Road Premieres on CBS October 19 – Everything You Need to Know

What Is The Road About?

The Road is an exciting new competition series debuting on CBS on October 19. The show is co-produced by country music superstar Blake Shelton and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Shelton will appear alongside “headliner” Keith Urban and “tour manager” Gretchen Wilson.

Twelve contestants will compete to prove they have what it takes to be a touring artist. They’ll perform as opening acts for Keith Urban on tour, testing how live audiences respond to their talent and stage presence.

Gretchen Wilson’s Role as Tour Manager

As the tour manager, Gretchen Wilson will mentor the contestants throughout their journey. She will share her industry experience, offering advice on both performance and life on the road.

“Stepping into the role of ‘tour manager’ for The Road has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned over all my years of touring and pour it right back into these emerging musicians,” Wilson said. “Helping them sharpen their talents and guiding them through the real grind of life on tour has been a highlight of my career.”

The cast, revealed on June 25, features performers from across the United States:

• Briana Adams – Winchester, Texas

• Britnee Kellogg – Anthem, Arizona

• Channing Wilson – LaFayette, Georgia

• Cody Hibbard – Adair, Oklahoma

• Forrest McCurren – Jefferson City, Missouri

• Jenny Tolman – Nashville, Tennessee

• Jon Wood – Wake Forest, North Carolina

• Olivia Harms – Canby, Oregon

The Grand Prize for the Winner

On August 13, The Road released a “first look” video that revealed the ultimate prize: $250,000 and a record contract.

The preview showed contestants performing in front of Keith Urban’s fans, visibly moved by the chance to sing for such a large audience. But Wilson warned, “Opening for Keith’s audiences is not for the faint of heart.”
