Billboard History Made: Multiple Christian Artists Chart On The Hot 100

Is Christian Music Making A Comeback? Forest Frank And Brandon Lake Lead The Charge

It seems Christian music is on the rise.

After gaining mainstream success as part of the duo Surfaces, Forest Frank launched a solo Christian music career.

Many artists would think this would be considered career suicide. Christian music has always been rather niche. Having a large Christian following, it rarely broke into mainstream relevance.

So when Frank decided to make the jump, it is clear that it was an “unwise” business decision even then. However, he has proved that where there is a will there is a way.

Forrest Frank released “Your Way’s Better,” and it hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The song first went viral on TikTok, as hit songs do now. It was so well loved that its online relevance translated to the mainstream charts.

The song peaked at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100, which shocked many consumers because it is a Christian hit.

“Oh Lord, I need You now more than ever
Would You put my heart back together
I searched the world ’til my head hurt
Just to find out Your way’s better.”

Brandon Lake And Jelly Roll’s Hit

Another artist who has become mainstream is Brandon Lake, who collaborated with Jelly Roll on his recent hit.

“Hard Fought Hallelujah” has been seemingly everywhere over the last few months. This could be attributed to Jelly Roll’s star power, but it could also be because the song’s meaning is moving people.

The song has been played on the stagecoach stage, late-night talk shows, mainstream concerts, and festivals.

The hit song hit the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, alongside ranking on many Christian charts.

These are only two examples of Christian music entering the mainstream; many more are on the rise!
