AGT Winner Richard Goodall Reunites With Biological Father After Lifelong Search

Richard Goodall’s Heartwarming Family Discovery

America’s Got Talent Season 19 winner, Richard Goodall, recently shared one of the most personal chapters of his life. In an emotional Facebook post, the soulful singer and janitor introduced his newly discovered father, Hubert, following an Ancestry DNA test.

For years, Goodall lived unaware of his biological roots.

Thanks to the test and the encouragement of his wife Angie, he learned that Hubert is a retired K9 police officer from Indianapolis, as well as a retired Army veteran. Goodall explained that his biological father had never known about him. He invited fans to appreciate the magnitude of the moment—an unexpected reunion with a parent he never knew.

Goodall’s journey has always resonated with the public.

He gained fame in 2024 after his elementary school janitor performance of “Don’t Stop Believin’” went viral. AGT judges awarded him a golden buzzer, and he ultimately won Season 19. While his life has changed dramatically, he continues his janitorial job, balancing humility with newfound recognition.

This new family connection adds another emotional layer to his story.

Richard writes, He has no children, so you can imagine his shock to find out after all these years? He has a son.” He also mentioned Hubert’s musical passions—Hubert played drums, guitar, and mandolin.

Richard ended his heartfelt message with deep gratitude toward Angie, saying, “Had it not been for her, I wouldn’t have tried to look.” This touching discovery underscores how even amidst national recognition, personal healing and connection remain powerful.
