Some of country music’s brightest stars will be broadcasted in living rooms on Sunday, April 5, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, CBS All Access and fuboTV.
With the American Country Music awards postponed until September, CBS put together a two-hour special where 20 stars will perform some of their most popular songs from their homes.
Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Down, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are some of the artists performing.
Like James Corden’s “Homefest” earlier this week or Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s home concert, these artists won’t have access to the technical tools they use for their concerts.
“This is the beauty — and I mean this in a positive way — of an under-produced show.” Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive vice president of specials, music and live events said in an interview with USA Today. “It shows you in no uncertain terms how amazingly talented these performers are, in a stripped-down, acoustic way. This music is not produced in a basement in Sweden. These guys get up on a stage, play real instruments and sing.”
