Kane Brown Accepts the Country Champion Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards

Kane Brown honored as the Country Champion at the 2nd annual People’s Choice Country Awards

On Thursday (September 26), Music City came together to celebrate the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards (PCCAs). Aired live from the famous Grand Ole Opry house in Nashville, TN, the evening delivered memorable performances and exciting award wins.

Shania Twain hosted the show, which is dubbed the “award show for the people and by the people.”

Prior to the ceremony, it was announced that Kane Brown would be honored as this year’s Country Champion. This award recognizes an artist who has dedicated their time to philanthropy and activism while simultaneously making great strides in their musical career.

The previous Country Champion was Wynonna Judd

During the inaugural PCCAs in 2023, Wynonna Judd received the first-ever Country Champion Award. At the time, an executive of NBCUniversal Entertainment, Cassandra Tryon, shared:

“Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music. Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched. We can’t think of a better person to honor as our inaugural ‘Country Champion.’”

Wynonna was selected and honored for her advocacy of children, military veterans and their families, disaster relief, and more through her work with organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project and Habitat for Humanity.

Kane Brown accepts the Country Champion award

Throughout his career, Kane Brown has been an unwavering supporter of the Boys & Girls Club and has been actively involved in renovation projects, education opportunities, and fundraising efforts. This dedication to and support of young musicians set Kane apart as a Country Champion.

Country newcomer Bailey Zimmerman presented Kane Brown with the award while Kane’s wife, Katelyn, looked on from the front row. The newly crowned Country Champion admitted that he struggles with acceptance speeches, often “looks down” on himself, and feels like he should not be on that stage.

Kane went on to encourage anyone who has a dream and who wants to give back and help others. He reminded them to keep pursuing those dreams despite any naysayers.

Finally, he thanked his wife, his family, and his fans because, without them, he would not have the platform to make an impact.

Congratulations, Kane! Watch his acceptance speech in the video below.
