Post Malone Joined By John Michael Montgomery At Opry Debut For “Be My Baby Tonight”

Post Malone made his Grand Ole Opry debut Wednesday night (August 14) and invited an impressive lineup of country superstars to join him.
Dressed in full country attire, including cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, blue jeans and a suit coat, Post Malone was welcomed to the stage, and to country music, with a rousing standing ovation. He told the crowd that he was excited and nervous, fully aware of the magnitude of the opportunity he had been given to sing on country music’s most beloved stage.

Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, and John Michael Montgomery were among the special guests invited to the Opry by Post Malone. Post made die-hard country fans happy by bringing some country classics to the hallowed venue. Vince and Post sang Gill’s 1992 hit “One More Last Chance” and were joined by Paisley on guitar.

Malone then asked John Michael Montgomery on stage to sing Montgomery’s 1994 chart-topping hit, “Be My Baby Tonight.”

“Welcome to Nashville, Post. Happy to have you here, buddy,” Montgomery said as he took his place behind an Opry mic. He added that he was impressed by the video he had seen of Post singing covers of his songs. “My daughter’s a huge fan so she showed me the videos, and I was like, ‘Cool!’”

Prior to the live Opry show, John Michael Montgomery’s son, Walker, revealed backstage that Post had personally invited John Michael to join him for his Orpy debut, making the night even more special.

“As soon as Post called and asked him to do it, he said yes,” Walker shared. “He learned about Post…we were watching the ACMs…he called me and said, ‘I like this Post Malone guy.’ They kind of talked about what they could do together and this is what they ended up on.”

Post Malone’s Grand Ole Opry debut comes two days before the release of his highly-anticipated debut country album, “F-1 Trillion.”

Few artists have received the hype that Post Malone has received ahead of the release of his new album. Post, who found success as a rapper and hip hop artist, has been welcomed into the country music community with open arms. In fact, “F-1 Trillion” has already pre-sold enough copies to be certified Gold prior to its release!
