Zach John King has transformed his journey from an American Idol contestant to a rising star, now touring alongside Luke Bryan, the same judge who once sent him home.
During a recent chat on The BobbyCast, King recounted his experience from 2020 when he was eliminated during Hollywood Week, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although viewers never saw his audition, King’s encounter with Bryan left a lasting impact. “I made it to Hollywood Week, and Luke Bryan sent me home, ironically, and told me to keep gigging… and I did!” he shared.
From Rejection to Tour Partner
King embraced Bryan’s advice to continue performing, developing his craft through consistent gigs. Fast forward to 2026, and he finds himself touring with Bryan, a full-circle moment that highlights King’s growth in the industry. Their discussions during the tour allowed King to remind Bryan of their initial meeting, solidifying their connection.
Milestones of a Growing Star
In addition to touring, Bryan has played a pivotal role in King’s career by inviting him to make his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, a significant milestone for any country artist. This opportunity is particularly meaningful, considering King had such a rocky start on American Idol.
As King continues to carve his path in the country music scene, fans eagerly anticipate what he will accomplish next, reinforcing the notion that persistence can lead to unexpected opportunities.
