The George Strait concert scheduled for August at Notre Dame Stadium has been canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A release from the university cited “the safety of all fans as our top priority.”

The concert was originally scheduled for August 2020 and had been pushed to Aug. 7 of this year because of the pandemic.

Now that the concert is canceled, tickets and parking purchased, plus service charges, will be refunded within 30 days, the release said.

For resale tickets sold through Ticketmaster, the company will refund the original buyer’s account. People who bought tickets on another resale platform need to seek a refund with that company.

The university previously announced that the Billy Joel concert, scheduled for this summer at Notre Dame Stadium, had been rescheduled to June 25, 2022.
